WHAT IS THE WEATHER LIKE?

Temperatures vary a great deal.  March and April are warm, whilst May to August are usually cool at night and mild to warm during the day.  September to November are warmer, but with mild winds.  This time of year is normally hot but being a summer rainfall region the quick thunder-showers cools it off and makes the green season very pleasant.

WHAT LEGAL DOCUMENTATION IS NEEDED?

A valid passport is required.  Visas are not required for European Union and USA citizens.  Customs are cleared at your port of entry into the country.  It is advisable to insure personal effects and luggage.  A SAPS 520- form (application for multiple import or export permit) from the South African Police Service and your rifle licence. A copy of your PH's licence.   

CURRENCY AND SPENDING MONEY
The local currency in South Africa is Rand(R).  Certain locations will accept credit cards.  Remember to inform your bank that you will be travelling to a foreign country.  Foreign currency can be applied for well in advance at your bank or can be purchased at your port of entry into the country.  You should make provision for all accommodation and travel expenses prior to or after your safari.  It is customary to tip staff in recognition of good service after your stay.

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE DAILY RATE?
All safaris include accommodation; sumptuous native meals; drinks(soft drinks, local beers and wine - in moderation); transport (ground only); exhibit and park fees.

WHAT IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE DAILY RATE?
Not included are return airline cost; air charter; alcoholic beverages such as whiskey and spirits; personal expenditure such as insurance and gratuities.
  
PACKING LIST
Natural fiber clothing in earth tone colors. Comfortable well worn walking/hunting boots.  Gloves for hunting.  Facial cream with a high sunscreen factor.  Chapstick.  Binoculars.  Trousers and a jacket, suitable for the cool early mornings and evenings, will be necessary. A laundry service while in camp, are provided so you may limit the sets of clothing.  A hat, sun block and sunglasses are advisable.
Personal toiletries and medication must be brought. 

MALARIA
Our base camp is situated in a malaria-free area and no medication is needed.  You will be informed if traveling will commence in a malaria area.
